Hello and welcome to my webpage!

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Economics at the University of Bologna. I completed my PhD in Economics in 2025 at the Center for Research in the Economics of Development (CRED), University of Namur.

My research interests are Development Economics, Culture, and Economic History. In my research, I use first-hand data that I collect and secondary sources to understand the role of institutions (both formal and informal) and the role of customs, beliefs and religion in economic development, with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa and on gender. To study these issues, I rely on randomized controlled trials and on observational data. 

During the fall and winter of 2023-2024, I visited the Paris School of Economics. In March 2025, I visited the Vancouver School of Economics.
